Use the truth as a weapon to beat up all your friends Every chink in the armor An excuse to cause offense And the boys from the hallway calling out your name And true love will find them in the end
You were restless I was somewhere less secure So I went running to the road And so now there's a long list of places I was I quit my rambling and came home
Cause maybe I was born to hold you in these arms Maybe I was born to hold you in these arms
Use your saints and your mantra And your things to keep you calm If you stay with that asshole he's gonna do you harm There's a voice singing loudly on the radio just for you And good fortune will find him in the end
Maybe I was born to hold you in these arms Maybe I was born to hold you in these arms Maybe I was born to hold you in these arms Maybe I was born to hold you in these arms

let go of my hand, you've already gone

Glen Hansard of The Swell Seasons/The Frames. A man with a penchant for wrenchingly passionate melodies. At the recent concert in Prospect Park with Marketa Irglova, he broke through 5 strings, one of which was during this song and as his stage hand switched guitars, he continued belting out this haunting melody with such angst and so much passion... the man needed no microphone that evening.

What a night. What a performer.

I can't wait forever is all that you said
Before you stood up
And you won't disappoint me
I can do that myself
But I'm glad that you've come
Now if you don't mind

Leave, leave,
And free yourself at the same time
Leave, leave,
I don't understand, you've already gone

And I hope you feel better
Now that it's out
What took you so long
And the truth has a habit
Of falling out of your mouth
But now that it's come
If you don't mind

Leave, leave,
And please yourself at the same time
Leave, leave,
Let go of my hand
You said what you have to now
Leave, leave,
Let go of my hand
You said what you came to now
Leave, leave,
Leave, leave,
Let go of my hand
You said what you have to now
Leave, leave

gold-digging bear!

Who would leave an adorable little mouse for an ugly green frog?
This song reminds me so much of the film "500 Days of Summer".

there are worse ways for a guy to spend his time
than to sit and think of you
i think i'd marry you
just your smile
leaves me satisfied
though you're not mine

so for the rest of my life
i'm gonna search for someone just like you

and we tend the garden all day long
watching history unfold
and i'd be enough
and you'd be enough
and we'd grow old

so for the rest of my life
i'm gonna search for someone just like you

for the rest of my life
i'm gonna search for someone just like you

yeah, for the rest of my life
i'm gonna search for someone just like you

life-track: Clean

There's a place around my heart that you wish for
When you pretend its never there
What are you living for?

Come back and see me some time, she said
Thinking he'd rather be dead.
But eventually I might give her a ring instead

Would you talk to me?
Would you talk to me?
I want everything to be so clean
So clean

When you're alone,
You'll ask yourself things
I bet you were not
Even thinking all these things
One time its clear to you
All the things you know
He even reminds me of the kid we used to know

Would you talk to me?
Would you talk to me?
I want everything to be so clean.
So clean.

There's a place around my heart
that you hope for
When you pretend its never there
What do you answer for?

Come back and see me sometime, she said.
Thinking he'd be dead.
But eventually, I might give her a book instead

Would you talk to me?
Would you talk to me?
I want everything to be so clean.
So clean.

Would you talk to me?
Would you talk to me?
Would you talk to me?
Would you talk to me?

I want everything to be so clean.
So clean.

life-track: Shampoo

Here I go again
Late for another passing train
Oh, the good times we had
Another morning comes
Left another record on
Had a good night for all

Last thing that I remember
Things were getting better
I’ll go anywhere with you

So we rise
Off to make another run of it
Pass the time, we say goodbye
Here we are again enclosed
Wake me up, I’m ready to go
Oh, the sunset tonight

Last thing that I remember
Things were getting better
Last thing that I remember
Things were getting better
And I’d go anywhere with you

Here I go again
Late for another passing train
Oh the good times lie ahead
Last thing that I remember
Things were getting better
Last thing that I remember
Things were getting better
Last thing that I remember
Things were getting better
I would go anywhere with you

life-track: I am the Cosmos

Every night I tell myself,
"I am the cosmos,
I am the wind"
But that don't get you back again
Just when I was starting to feel okay
You're on the phone
I never wanna be alone
Never wanna be alone
I hate to have to take you home
Wanted too much to say no, no,
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Never wanna be alone
I hate to have to take you home
Want you too much to say no, no
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
My feeling's always happening
Something I couldn't hide
I can't confide
Don't know what's going on inside
So every night I tell myself
"I am the cosmos,
I am the wind"
But that don't get you back again
I'd really like to see you again
I really wanna see you again
I'd really like to see you again
I really wanna see you again
I'd really like to see you again
I really wanna see you again
I never wanna see you again
Really wanna see you again

la gitana

Como echo de menos mi vida gitanilla... Sometimes, Shakira just gets those lyrics right. *sigh* :-/
Also, how can one go wrong with an oiled up, dirty, half-nekked Rafa Nadal.

Ugh, feel that chemistry.
..brings back memories...

life-track: The Relator

When I met you,
I didn't know what to do. I was tired,
I was hungry,
I fight. Now I'm away,
I write home everyday and I see you on the TV at night.
(Chorus)
You can see that life's for us to talk about.
You can leave whenever you want out.
Whoa. You don't relate to me,
no girl,
you don't respect me,
no girl,
no girl. Oh yeah.

When I met you,
I didn't know what to do,
but I noticed that I didn't really feel.
Now you're away,
you write home everyday. I don't beg,
I don't borrow,
I steal.
(Chorus)
You don't think that life's for us to talk about.
You can leave whenever you want out,
you want out. Well,
you don't relate to me,
no girl. You don't respect me,
no girl. (you can leave when ever you want out)
And you don't relate to me,
no girl. And you don't respect me,
no girl. (You can leave whenever you want out)
No you don't relate to me,
no girl. And you don't respect me,
no girl. No girl. Yeah.

-Pete Yorn & Scar-Jo. Relator.

I just wanna tell you

If you find the answer
I'll be inside
arranging time
You won't find another dummy who wait for you
So I hate the one who lives for you

Don't blame me for your trouble

and you search your heart x2

I don't need an answer
I just don't know
If you find it one day
I know that you're strenght is gone
and you are shattered

Don't hate me for I live for you
Don't make me do things you won't do
Don't blame me for your trouble

Cos' you know once you're over the top of the hill
You're life ain't no supermarket store
And you know this
And it shows x2

No One Laughs at God

PostSecrets. I like the ones with the silver lining best.
Regina Spektor, you, ma'am, have a way with words. Even when I have you playing in the background, you always end up making me listen.

***
No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God
When they’re starving or freezing or so very poor

No one laughs at God
When the doctor calls after some routine tests
No one’s laughing at God
When it’s gotten real late
And their kid’s not back from the party yet

No one laughs at God
When their airplane start to uncontrollably shake
No one’s laughing at God
When they see the one they love, hand in hand with someone else
And they hope that they’re mistaken

No one laughs at God
When the cops knock on their door
And they say we got some bad news, sir
No one’s laughing at God
When there’s a famine or fire or flood

*Chorus*
But God can be funny
At a cocktail party when listening to a good God-themed joke, or
Or when the crazies say He hates us
And they get so red in the head you think they’re ‘bout to choke
God can be funny,
When told he’ll give you money if you just pray the right way
And when presented like a genie who does magic like Houdini
Or grants wishes like Jiminy Cricket and Santa Claus
God can be so hilarious
Ha ha
Ha ha

No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God
When they’ve lost all they’ve got
And they don’t know what for

No one laughs at God on the day they realize
That the last sight they’ll ever see is a pair of hateful eyes
No one’s laughing at God when they’re saying their goodbyes
But God can be funny
At a cocktail party when listening to a good God-themed joke, or
Or when the crazies say He hates us
And they get so red in the head you think they’re ‘bout to choke
God can be funny,
When told he’ll give you money if you just pray the right way
